02PARANOIA & INSECURITYIt is perhaps a sad truth that “a nicer life comes with greater strife”. This is exactly why owners of the world’s most luxurious yachts, and charter agencies, have to consider security as a signicant part of their leisure while being in a port. The risks of violence and criminality– robbery, kidnapping, terrorism, smuggling, cyber-attacks, intrusion, and extortion are real and present. They cannot and should not be ignored for the sake of everyone involved. Criminals are aware of the potentially rich pickings when it comes to private yachts, and so it is vital that they are not seen as a vulnerable target. Even the presence of a single security guard at the entrance of the yacht makes a big dierence in the eyes of criminals.

Page 3

03It also makes a dierence in the eyes of guests and it serves as a way to promote your yacht’s brand. When guests board your yacht and are immediately greeted by professional protection services they can enjoy a feeling of security and will view at your brand as being considerate for their wellbeing. However, security guards are more than hiring someone for an intimidating presence. They must be professional, dressed to represent your brand, bring a smile to your guests’ faces, and be professionally personable. All of these qualities can be hard to obtain without great soft skills and social dynamics, which is why our security professionals can represent your brand down to the nest detail of quality service.Where there are lots of people it’s possible that someone may try to enter a yacht. This is most commonly done out of curiosity and without any bad intentions, but it is still unacceptable behavior and a security threat. Even though these cases are very rare, many guests don’t feel comfortable or secure without a security guard. Imagine that this case was to happen on a private yacht without a security guard, someone would still have to be in charge of removing uninvited guests. This should never be the responsibility of guests on the ship or the crew that is preoccupied with keeping the vessel running smoothly.Although the chance of someone trespassing on your yacht is minor, it can still cause a great amount of concern for your guests. The best way to attract new clientele is to keep them safe and make sure their every need is met, which includes their need for security. Having a guard who will be present at entrances, patrol the yacht all the time, protect belongings, and take care of guests’ needs can be a priceless service for many high-prole individuals.Shuttle Service (to/from the hotel/airport) for your guestsAccess Control / Guest List CheckingCrowd Control Management for embarkation on the tenders and assistance with the safe disembarkation of the guests at the end of the event.Health and Safety on BoardFirst Aid OUR SUPERYACHT SECURITY SERVICES includes:

04SHUTTLE SERVICEACCESS CONTROL / CROWD CONTROLFor more information aboutour secure transportation services, please follow this link;www.xs-travelamanegement.comWhen you have a large group of people waiting to board your yacht, it’s always a good idea to have someone to control that ow of the people. This is especially true if boarding takes place close to the sea where there is a risk of some-one falling in. Depending on the individual and the scenario, such a situation if nothing elsewill ruin clothes, phones, and their plans for a good time out. Having a trained security professional at the ready ensures a smoother boarding pro-cess which diminishes guest’s chances of taking a risky fall, and in the case that a guest does fall, you can be assured that there is a professional on hand to provide immediate assistance.Crowd control management is a specic train-ing program that all of the individuals on a se-curity team need to learn. Crowd safety is not just about trying to merely control the crowd, it involves using the right kind of communication and eectuating the perfect leadership skills to manage the crowd. When a crowd is controlled by an experienced and trained security profes-sional, even the most intense situations can be alleviated in a favorable manner.

05PARANOIA & INSECURITYImagine that the event has already started, and your event coordinators could not board on the yacht since they still wait for some guests who are late. Now, you do not have enough sta who will welcome the guests and run an event program on the yacht at the same time. You do not know how many guests have boarded so far, and if there is still anyone on the dock waiting to board. At such a point, many things can go wrong, and the event can even be ruined without event coordinator. To make things worse, last-minute help is hard to nd and even more dicult to rely on. Luckily, our security professionals are experienced in assisting with events of all sizes and specics, making them the perfect reliable ll-in at an overbooked or understaed event. Now imagine that the event is not over yet, but there are some elderly guests as well as couples with children aboard and they want to go back to the coast, but tenders are not around and nobody knows where they have gone. You can’t easily tell whether they are on the way back to the yacht or if they are with another group of people heading back to port.We can control and manage tenders to ensure that guests never have to deal with the uncertainty and frustration of waiting for unpredictable tender services. All of these problems and more can be prevented as long as professionals in security and management are on board!

06HEALTH & SAFETYAll our operatives are certied internationally through the AREMT and Belgian Ministry of Health. They are CPR/AED qualied and possess Pediatric Health Care qualications as well. These qualications make them capable of assisting your crew in any type of health emergency. Our security professionals also are STCW95 certied Ship Security Ocers, trained in live-re exercises. This certication has provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the theory of re within an onboard environment. Since this knowledge is combined with a familiarity with the use of xed and portable reghting equipment, they can also assist the crew in case of re.Rules of conduct on yachts are mostly the same everywhere, and for those who are boaters or are frequent guests at yacht events, this is not a problem. However, there are always those who are on a yacht for the rst time, and we should warn them if they accidentally violate the rules on board and thereby endanger the safety of themselves and others. Informing guests of these conduct codes in a polite and educational manner is key to maintaining a successful event and safety. Issues such as smoking on a yacht or leaving glasses on a terrace fence, for instance, must be addressed immediately, and our security ocers are professionals at relaying this information respectfully.FIRST AID & FIREFIGHTING

08RISK ASSESSMENT Comprehensive crew training protocols are also essential. Crew, and sometimes even guests if there is a big group of passengers, should be instructed on how to act in a crisis. We will highlight any security procedures and measures that should be taken by the crew prior to the arrival of owners and guests, conduct any necessary training and ensure that security protocols and responses are understood by all.• Vandalism – deliberately mischievous or malicious destruction or damage of property• Theft – no weapons, no violence, possibly boarding the yacht• Burglary – breaking and entering a locked yacht while the crew is away• Robbery – boarding a yacht by one or more persons with weapons• Assault – injuries to and/or physical restrain-ing of the crew in the course of a robbery• Assault resulting in death – injuries to or physical harm to a person that results in death.• Piracy – boarding and theft on or of a vessel while underwayThey should also understand the differences in types of crisis, including:

09The commercial drone industry is expected to surpass $1 billion in annual sales in 2019. Although these gadgets have a wide range of benecial applications, they also pose a growing threat to superyacht owners and the privacy of their guests. This was demonstrated by the case of seven guests aboard a superyacht moored in Portocolom, Mallorca, in June 2017 who were lmed by a drone as they sunbathed naked on the deck of their yacht. When it comes to buying commercial drones, there are many people at organizations with various ideas of how to use them and employ them in business, but there are also people who do not want drones to interfere with their businesses and their privacy. In addition to violating a yacht owner’s personal privacy, there also is the possibility that drones could be used by criminals to gain a bird’s eye view of a vessel and highlight its vulnerabilities.COUNTER PAPARAZZI SERVICESDrones against privacy!

Page 10

10The paparazzi are a constant worry for celebrities. It used to be ne to slip o a bathing suit to enjoy some full sun when you are anchored far from the beach, but now there’s the worry of a camera being in the sky. When it comes to protecting privacy, the needs are great from a very diverse group of organizations, as well as individuals.Private events with high entertainment value or controversy are prime opportunities for outsiders to spy, harass, harm, or illegally record using drones. A drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that is controlled from a distance, and that’s why physical protection and standard security measures are not enough to keep them in check.Drones can capture a birds-eye view of large-scale exhibitions. They can freely inltrate gated environments and avoid capture by security on the ground. This makes these consumer aircrafts ideal tools for unlicensed recording and transmission of event footage. We are able to provide you anti-UAV devices to monitor all dimensions of an event space, on the ground or on the yacht. Our Anti-UAV System oers temporary installments for special events, – or as a permanent installation. We work with the well-experienced team at mydefence.dk to provide each and every yacht with an anti-drone protection plan that really works. 11ANTI PIRACYIn a world where warm weather is usually considered better, the yachting scene heads to warmer climates throughout the winter months. Typically, those popular winter charter destinations include countries in the Middle East, like Bahrain, Oman, Dubai, or Abu Dhabi for a famous F1 Race. However, there are also destinations within Indian Ocean regions, including Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles, and the Maldives. Even with the presence of Naval Forces in the Indian Ocean, the threat posed by the Somali pirates has not been completely eliminated. To many, the term ‘pirates’ may evoke images of galleons and treasure, but for both commercial sailors and superyacht owner’s piracy, this word is linked to a serious threat. The shipping industry is continuing its ght against pirates with The International Chamber of Commerce International Maritime Bureau’s Piracy Reporting Center detailing that 27 vessels were boarded, seven vessels were red upon and four attempted attacks occurred in the rst quarter of 2019. As matters stand, parts of the Philippines, the Gulf of Aden, and the coast of West Africa are classied as ‘red-alert’ areas for pirate activity whilst some parts of the Caribbean are categorized ‘Amber’, (i.e. requiring caution). The war in Yemen, the situation around the Iranian coast, the activities of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group in East Africa have put tourists at risk and created a profound sense of uncertainty in this part of the world. These events have also cast a shadow over neighboring cruising destinations such as Northern Madagascar, the Seychelles, and even Mozambique. It must be stressed that sailing in that area is still potentially dangerous.Although some areas of the Caribbean are safe, others have become hot spots for pirates who prey upon passing vessels. Even the southern and eastern regions of the Mediterranean have become increasingly dangerous due to conicts in both Libya and Syria and the increasing usage of waters around Sicily and Gibraltar by human trackers.

Page 12

12An incident in 2016 o the coast of Turkey highlighted the dangers to sailors in waters near conict zones. A Turkish coast guard vessel spotted a raft that appeared to contain dead bodies drifting o of their coast. However, when the coast guard approached and boarded the raft exploded, killing a Turkish sailor, a victim of an IED.Areas that were once expected to be yachting hot spots have grown quiet due to the fear of robbery or harm that is possible because of pirating in these areas. How to pirate-proof your superyacht? These events are concerning, but they should not be allowed to ruin your yacht’s ability to travel freely, that is why we are here to help.
